The common questions.
Rates, detention, tracking, insurance, carrier setup, and payment terms — sorted before you call dispatch.
All-in, per loaded mile, by lane — fuel is baked in, no separate surcharge games. Dry van typically runs $2.10–$2.90/mi, reefer $2.40–$3.10, flatbed $2.30–$3.40, all subject to the week, region, and commodity. Dedicated and contract lanes are priced below spot in exchange for committed volume. Tell us the lane and equipment and you’ll get a firm number.
Two hours free at pickup and at delivery. After that, detention bills at $50/hour. It isn’t about nickel-and-diming — every hour the truck sits at a dock is an hour off the 14-hour HOS clock that I can’t legally drive. Respecting appointment windows keeps both of us moving and earning.
Lumper fees (third-party dock labor at grocery and retail DCs) are reimbursed by the broker or shipper, not absorbed into the rate. We pay the lumper, send you the receipt, and it’s reimbursed — often advanced through our factoring company so there’s no out-of-pocket delay.
Yes. The truck is ELD-equipped with real-time GPS. You get check calls at pickup, in transit, and at delivery, plus status macros or tracking-link visibility on request. You always know where the load is and when it’ll deliver.
$1,000,000 auto liability and $100,000 motor truck cargo — well above the federal minimums — plus $1,000,000 general liability. We email a Certificate of Insurance naming you as certificate holder before pickup. Higher cargo limits are available for high-value freight.
In about five minutes. Our carrier packet is ready to send: FMCSA authority letter, W-9, COI, a signed broker–carrier agreement (yours or ours), equipment list, and a factoring Notice of Assignment if needed. Active authority, USDOT and MC on file, Satisfactory rating — clean to vet on SAFER.
We book roughly two to four weeks out for dedicated and planned freight, but same-day and expedited loads happen when the Hours-of-Service clock allows — call dispatch and we’ll tell you straight whether we can legally make your appointment.
We invoice on delivery with the BOL and any lumper receipts. Standard broker terms work for us — Net 30, Net 15, quick-pay, or factoring. We issue a Notice of Assignment when a load is factored. Whatever your AP process is, we fit it.
